This
region of Michigan is usually thought of as the heart of the Lake
Michigan vacation lands. While Lake Michigan is beautiful,
there are is more to the west coast of Michigan than sand and
lighthouses. Well inland for example is the
Bowman Lakes Trail. The trailhead is west
of Baldwin, Michigan on 56th St. and is part of the North Country Trail.
It leads to an overlook of Bowman Lake, passes through ravines and
oak forests. Bowman Bridge Campground is just to the east.
If you are headed for the lake don't forget the Cleanest Beach on Lake Michigan.
