Michigan Flywheelers Museum - An Historic Michigan Attraction
In
1984 the Van Buren Flywheelers got started as an antique
engine and tractor show in a parking lot in Hartford,
Michigan. The founders combined a love of Michigan
history with hard work and the show grew into one of the
largest in Michigan. That growth meant that she show
needed to find a new place and in 1995 the club acquired 80
acres in Geneva township near South Haven.
Today this Michigan attraction includes a number of exhibits.
A Log Cabin that is used as a display about the first settlers. Next to the building is a "kitchen garden" that is surrounded by a hand made rustic fence.
The Farm History Building has tools, machinery and displays about farm life. At one end is "Grandma's Kitchen and on the other end the display is of a barn scene. Between the two one can learn about Michigan dairy farming, poultry farming and historic sites like the Bangor Elevator.
All about the grounds are educational and interactive displays including trying to identify antique tools and the ever popular "outhouse".
The museum grounds are on 68th St. South Haven about 2.5 miles from the lake.
