Any time we get to the upper peninsula we have smoked fish on the brain but there is more great stuff to be found. I tried this place because I desperately needed to find a WiFi hotspot. They were gracious and let me sit there for hours.
The Poor Mans Whitefish is to die for, whitefish, mushrooms, onion, tomato, potato, spices and more all wrapped in foil and served up hot. Oh man, I can hardly wait to get back there and they tell me that this is the SECOND best whitefish dish on the menu.
Since I needed WiFi a couple of times and hot spots are rare up there, I went back a couple of days later and ordered steak. It was PERFECT. This is a great place to eat.
If you decide to stay over I recommend St. Ignace Pines www.stignacepines.com
Travel in Michigan will take you to nearly endless destinations. As you enjoy the sights and attractions, a little snack or a full meal will eventually become a necessity. In this section, and by region, I will let you in on some of the best places for some of my favorites.
The food destinations in this section are pretty much my favorites in every category.
