Totem Village St. Ignace Michigan

totem poles Just two miles west of St. Ignace, Michigan is the Totem Village. This excellent shop has been in business since I was just knee high to a grasshopper. Inside is an old fashion "up north" souvenir shop an a whole lot more.

There is an Indian lore museum, a village of authentic totem poles, scale models of the original soo locks, Fort Fond du Lac, and a lumber camp. There is a life size trading post, an old time sugar camp and lots of authentic artifacts.

After you have browsed the shop and then gone through the totem pole village and displays, you step outside into the wildlife area. Live bobcats, foxes and Sika deer are kept here along with a few surprises.

This is a great stop and a big shop with lots more than I have described here. Open May - October. Be sure to bring your camera.
