Cannery Village - Loft Apartments

Originally, this was the W. H. Roach Cannery Warehouse and on this site was the Stokely Van Camp Canning Factory.  In 1918 when things got started the cannery was the largest pea canning factory in the world and was the first all- automated pea cannery in the U.S.A..  In addition to producing nearly 3 million cans of fruits and vegetables in the first year of operation, the warehouse contained its own box nailing and can labeling equipment.

Today the building houses modern loft apartments.  The exterior walls of this building are a foot thick and the second floor and roof are supported by enormous cedar posts and beams.  The cedar can be seen in the entry foyer.
