Williamston Summer Events - 2011

August 5, 2011, Dog Days of Summer in Downtown Williamston – Mark your calendars - bring your pets for fun at this event from the Williamston Area Chamber of Commerce. Lots of activities, one of which is an "Ugly Dog" Contest! There will be prizes for Best Costume, Best Trick, Best Behaved, Least Behaved, Looks Most Like Owner, Longest Tail, Shortest Tail, Most Friendly, Shortest Legs, Longest Legs, and . . . Ugliest! Cost will be $5 to enter your first category and $2 for each category after that. All proceeds will benefit “Paws With a Cause”. Go to www.pawswithacause.org for information about the 501 (c) (3). Registration starts at 5 pm, with the contest to start at 6 pm on the pet-friendly patio at Gracie’s Place, 151 S. Putnam in downtown Williamston. This Contest is sponsored by the Delta Rho Chapter of ESA International.

Other festivities during Dog Days include Williamston’s Deputy Dog Contest, a pet parade, pet tricks, pet pools, pet clothing, animal shelter drive, pet adoptions, grooming, and lots more! Questions, contact 517-655-2998 or 517-655-1549.

Saturday, July 16 - The Williamston Eagles are hosting their 17th annual car show on Saturday, July 16. Registration starts at 11 am and the show starts at 1 pm. They are once once again serving their famous pulled pork sandwiches and grilled seasoned chicken leg quarters at family friendly prices. Car show entries receive a free meal. From 3-7 pm, dance to the great music of the Sea Cruisers! Also, you can put your money on a duck in the car show Red Cedar duck derby. Cash bar and silent charity auction, too. This year's event is sponsored by Dick Scott Collision and Auto Glass in Fowlerville. The Eagles Club is located at 835 High Street in Williamston. Free Summer Concerts in Williamston’s Band Shell - Great bands and concerts all summer long at the American Legion Band Shell in Williamston's McCormick Park! Free! Bring your blankets, chairs, family and friends and enjoy! The park is located one block north of the main four corners in Williamston, cross streets of N. Putnam and High Streets.
