Charlevoix The Beautiful

boats on waterThey call it “Charlevoix The Beautiful” with good reason. Downtown is impressive year round with a wide variety of shops, galleries, and eateries. The views of the lakes alone is worth the trip. People enjoy boat watching as they pass right through town between Round Lake and Lake Michigan. Some people come here for the arts community, and the festivals that seem to be happening almost every weekend. Others come for the history. This is Hemingway country and the home of those remarkable Earl Young Mushroom Houses. Then there is the natural beauty that is all around. There are more than 20 different trails and nature areas. The beaches and shoreline on Lake Michigan are prime locations for hunting Petoskey stones, while waiting for another incredible sunset. Whatever the reason that brings visitors here, nearly everyone agrees that Charlevoix is, in fact, beautiful.
