Timber Ridge Getaway
Grand Traverse County in Northern Michigan is best known,
perhaps, for it's most famous town, Traverse City. Front
Street and downtown Traverse City are rightfully famous, but
there is a lot more to see in this region. This getaway is
based out of the Timber Ridge Resort. Timber Ridge is an RV
and Recreation Resort. However, you don't have to own a
camper to take advantage of their hospitality and amenities.
The resort offers year round cabins, yurts, and really cool
vintage trailers for rent.
In addition to the lodging, the resort offers amenities that may just keep you there the whole time. They have a heated pool, several varieties of ball courts, wooded hiking, biking, and motor sport trails immediately adjacent to the property. You don't even need to bring your bike with you, they have fat tire bikes and electric cargo bikes for rent. In fact, some people gather here just to watch the Iceman Cometh racers as the go by the resort every winter. This is a great place to work on your snow shoe muscles as, well. If all of that isn't enough, the Grand Traverse region is right outside the gates.
Since the resort is just eight miles from the crowds in downtown Traverse City, it is an ideal location from which to explore. It is easy to get to some of the lesser known destinations and attractions in the area, and enjoy Front Street and the Grand Traverse Bay as well. There is history to discover, rare music, pristine nature and a couple of places that are mostly known to the locals only.
